Temp mail: your free disposable email address

Opening your address…

Ready now. Copy it, sign up, and the code lands below.

What is temp mail?

Temp mail is a free email address that works without an account and deletes itself. mycloude gives you one the moment this page opens: paste it into a sign-up form, watch the verification code appear below within seconds, and let the address expire after ten minutes. Your real inbox never reaches the site's mailing list, and the sender never learns you opened anything.

People use it for the sign-ups they will never come back to: a free trial, a download behind an email wall, a discount code, a café's Wi-Fi page, a forum thread they want to read once. Developers use it to test their own sign-up flows. Each time, the site needs an address that works for a few minutes, and you need it to stop working afterwards. You may also know it as 10-minute mail, disposable email, throwaway email or a burner address: they are all this.

How do I use a temporary email address?

  1. Open the pageThe address is already there. There is no button to press first and no form to fill in.
  2. Use it to sign upCopy it and paste it into the sign-up form of the site you were about to give your real address to.
  3. Read the codeMail arrives in seconds, and the verification code is pulled out and shown in the list, so you rarely need to open the message at all.
  4. Let it go, or keep itAfter ten minutes the address and everything in it are deleted. If it turned out to matter, one payment of $2.99 keeps it receiving for 30 days, with its messages, in a workspace of your own.

Why can't the sender tell you opened the message?

Most marketing email carries a tracking pixel: a tiny remote image that, the moment you open the message, tells the sender your IP address, the time you read it, and that the address is alive and worth mailing again. Nearly every free temporary inbox loads those images for you.

This one does not. Messages open in a sealed frame that is not allowed to fetch anything from the internet, so tracking pixels, remote fonts and web beacons simply never load. You see the text and the layout; the sender learns nothing. That is the point of a throwaway address, and it is the part most tools quietly skip.

What does mycloude keep, and what does it measure?

There are no ads and nothing to sign up for. We measure visits with Google Analytics, to see which pages people find and which parts of the tool they use; it never receives your address or the content of your messages, and visitors from the EU and the UK are asked before an analytics cookie is set. When an address is made, Cloudflare's Turnstile checks that the request comes from a person. The only cookie of our own is the key to your mailbox, and it expires with it.

Attachments are never stored; you see their names and nothing else. Nothing you receive is kept after the address expires, and there is no archive of messages to leak. The one record kept longer is the IP address and browser of the connection that made each address: 30 days, stored apart from any content, to enforce the limits and answer a lawful request.

A temporary address is the right tool in one direction only: mail you want to receive once and forget. For an account you mean to keep, an address on a domain you own gives you the same distance, a different address for every site and none of them your personal inbox, without the ten-minute clock. That is what Brand My Inbox, the company behind mycloude, builds.

When is a temporary address the wrong choice?

  • An account you will want backPassword resets go to the address on file. In a month that address will not exist, and neither will your way back in. Banks, insurance and anything that holds money need an address that lasts.
  • Anything sensitiveMail reaches a shared domain and sits on our servers for its few minutes, like any email, without end-to-end encryption. Medical, legal or financial mail belongs in a mailbox you control.
  • Sites that block disposable domainsMany sign-up forms reject throwaway addresses. When one does, the answer is not another temporary address but one on a domain you own.

Why hasn't my verification email arrived?

  • Give it a minuteMost codes arrive within seconds, but some senders queue their mail for a minute or two. The inbox refreshes by itself every few seconds; there is nothing to reload.
  • Check the address went in wholeOne missing letter sends the code to an address that does not exist. Use the Copy button instead of typing it.
  • The site may refuse disposable domainsSome sites accept the address on the form and then never send to it. If nothing arrives after a few minutes, that is the likely reason, and another temporary address will not change it.
  • The clock may have run outOnce an address expires, mail to it is no longer received. Press +10 minutes while you wait for a slow sender, up to an hour in total.
  • The message may be too largeMessages over 2 MB are refused. Verification mail is far smaller, so this only affects image-heavy newsletters.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between temp mail, 10-minute mail and disposable email?

None that matters. Temp mail, 10-minute mail, disposable email, throwaway email and burner email all name the same thing: a working inbox with no account that deletes itself. mycloude is all of them: the address lasts ten minutes, can be extended to an hour, and receives real mail the whole time.

Is it really free?

Yes. The address, the inbox and the codes are free, with no ads paying for them and no sign-up. The one thing that costs money is keeping an address past its hour: $2.99, once, keeps it receiving for 30 days. It is run by Brand My Inbox, whose paid product is addresses that last.

How long does the address last?

Ten minutes, and you can add ten more at a time up to an hour. When the clock runs out the address and every message in it are deleted.

Is temp mail safe to use?

For what it is built for, yes. The address is ten random characters, the inbox opens only with a key stored in your browser, tracking pixels never load, and everything is deleted at the end. It is not safe for anything you need to keep: there is no password to recover and no way back once it expires.

Can someone else read my temporary inbox?

Not by knowing the address. The inbox opens only with a key kept in a cookie in the browser that created it, so another device, or another person who types the same address, sees nothing. Anyone using your browser during those minutes could see it, as with any open tab.

Is it legal to use a temporary email address?

Receiving mail at an address you do not keep is legal in most countries; it is simply a short-lived inbox. What you do with it is another matter: faking an identity or breaking a site's terms is on you, and abuse reported to the address at the bottom of this page is acted on.

Can I send email from it?

No. It only receives. An address that can send is a spam tool, and this one is not. Replies, forwards and outgoing mail are simply not part of it, by design.

Can I receive attachments?

You see the name of every attachment, but the file itself is never stored or delivered. Codes and confirmation links are text, and a file arriving at a throwaway address is far more often malware than something you asked for.

Does temp mail work for Facebook, Instagram, Discord or ChatGPT sign-ups?

Sometimes, and less often every year: large platforms keep lists of disposable domains and refuse them. More to the point, those are accounts people want to keep, and an account tied to an address that no longer exists cannot be recovered. Use an address that lasts for them.

Why was my address rejected by a website?

Some sites keep lists of disposable domains and refuse them. That is their decision to make. If you need the account to last, use an address on your own domain, which no such list will contain.

How many temporary addresses can I create?

Up to five an hour and twenty a day from one connection. The limit is what keeps the domains usable for everyone: a service that hands out unlimited addresses is soon blocked by every site worth signing up to.

Can I get the same address back later?

No. Once it expires it is gone for good, and it is never handed to anyone else. If you want to keep it, use the button before the ten minutes are up.

What happens to my messages when the address expires?

They are deleted with it: the text, the sender and the code. There is no archive and no backup to restore from, so if a message matters, copy what you need before the timer ends, or keep the address.

What do I get if I keep an address?

For $2.99, paid once, the address and the messages it already received move into a Brand My Inbox workspace of your own, and new mail keeps arriving there for 30 days; you can have it forwarded to your email. It receives only. It is on a throwaway domain that some sites block, so it is for receiving, not a permanent identity. If sign-up forms start refusing its domain, you get a twin address on a fresh domain, and the old one keeps receiving for the time you paid for. At the end it stops receiving, and buying again adds another 30 days.

Is there an API for testing sign-up flows?

Yes. Development and QA teams can create inboxes and wait for verification codes over an API, instead of sharing a real mailbox between test runs. It is part of Brand My Inbox's developer plans.

Who runs mycloude?

Brand My Inbox, which builds email addresses on businesses' own domains and runs the servers they receive on. mycloude receives on those same servers, which is why codes arrive in seconds. Abuse reports go to hello@mycloude.app.
